A Little About Me!

I was born October 6, 1959 in Meridian Mississippi.I attended Jackson State University and was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 16th round of the 1980 amateur draft. I made my debut in professional baseball in the 1982 season.

I have had the pleasure to play for the Boston Red Sox from (1982–89), Montreal Expos (1990–91), and the Texas Rangers (1991). I am a switch hitter and a right-handed pitcher. My pitch has been clocked at Want to know more about me? Check out my stats.

I currently live in East Providence, Rhode Island with my wife, Karen; my daughter Tala, and son Dennis. My nickname "Oil Can" comes from my beer drinking days in my hometown of Meridian, Mississippi, where moonshine is referred to as "oil."
